Everyone deserves to be heard.

PicTalk is a free app that speaks for people who can't — tap pictures or type, and it talks out loud.

Imagine not being able to tell anyone you're hungry, hurting, or that you love them. That's daily life for millions of people who can't speak. The devices that give them a voice cost $5,000–$15,000 — so the families who need them most go without. PicTalk is free.

One app, four ways to be heard

Picture board

For children who can't read yet — tap pictures to talk. Add real photos of Mom, the dog, a favorite toy.

Talking keyboard

For adults who lost speech to stroke or ALS — type and it speaks, with word prediction and one-tap phrases.

Switch access

For people who can't touch the screen — the app highlights each choice and they select with one button.

Vision tracking Coming soon

Eye-gaze control — choose just by looking, completely hands-free.

Why PicTalk is different

$0

Free forever. No account, no subscription, no catch. Where others charge $5,000–$15,000.

🔒

Private by design. Photos, names, and words stay on the person's own device. Nothing is uploaded.

📴

Works offline. After the first visit it runs with no internet — anywhere, anytime.

📱

Any device. A phone, a $50 tablet, a Chromebook, a library computer. If it has a browser, it works.

We'll build it with you

Every voice is different. We don't hand you an app and walk away — we'll help you build the perfect board for the person you love: their people, their words, their way. And as their needs change, we stay with you.

Why I built this

I'm John, from Kansas City. I kept thinking about the families who can't afford a $7,000 communication device — the ones who need it most. So I built a free one, and I'll keep it free. If it can help someone you love, that's the whole point.
